JULIA KINNEY

“She has been a blessing to all her family. Whenever she was able, she was right there helping to take care of whatever was needed. I love her very much and will continue to do so.”

LISA GOODE

“I still remember fondly our vacation to her farm. Those memories are all wrapped up in warm fuzzies! She is one of the few cooks who could fill me up.”

KATHY FURR

I write this in celebration of your long and loving life… The memories we created in that little Louisiana farmhouse feel really good to me. Thank you for the wonderful memories I hold. I am comfortable knowing you will be with me always, as you are now in the memories I hold in my heart.”

CAREY SIMPSON

“When Dessie was coming up there were a lot of boys in town that wanted to take her out on a date. She was never interested in that, but she finally gave in and said yes to some. She made me go along with her. I got a kick out of that. We were very close and I am going to miss her.”

Elbe, Susan, Hannah, and Sarah Watkins

Even though Dessie was always such a sweet lady, we always admired her toughness and her Faith. She always had a twinkle in her eyes when we visited her at church - You just knew that her close relationship with Jesus Christ was what put it there.

ANNETTE WALTON

Dessie was a member of our SS class. She couldn't see everything, but she was an excellent listener and loved being in Ray's class. Whenever I visited her whether in the hospital or in her apt., I was always blessed by her cheerful attitude and her very sweet spirit. I know of no one with a sweetness like hers. She had a peace about her that came from her faith and it was evident.
Dick and I took communion to her a couple of wks. before she died and she appreciated it so much. It was our JOY to know her and to love her.

Gene and Ilah Thompson

Dear John,
We saw your Grandma only at West County Christian Church, but she was always a pleasant lady. We will miss her and remember all the sweet things she left behind.

Betty Schoenhardt

As Lisa's mother, I remember that vacation, also. It was the first vacation I had had in fifteen years and she let us stay in a trailer on their property. Since then, I've been on cruises and gone to and some very exotic places.
We froze the harvest from the garden most of the time and it was the best vacation I have ever had-due much to the environment she created.
Thank you, Dessie.

Virginia Pafford

61 years ago, it was with the help of Aunt Dessie , and from her home in N.C. that I married Glenn. We can never forget how kind and loving she was to us then and all the later years..

Ms. Dessie Furr was an earth angel. Who had a soft, sweet, kind and gentle voice. My life is richer for knowing her. I will forever cherish our afternoons together. She will never be forgotten. I thank God for the gift of knowing her.

Nicholas Simpson

Though I was only fortunate enough to meat Aunt Dessie on a few occasions, and was too young to remember most, what I do remember is the smile that came to my Great Grandfather Roy's face when he spoke of her. Anyone who can bring joy like that to someone is special indeed.
